Using Technology to Help Our Patients

At Direct Doctors, like many other Direct Primary Care practices around the country, we work hard to make ourselves accessible to our patients.  While we can’t guarantee 24/7 access, we do ensure our patients can reach us on our cell phones, can text us, and can even email us when they need to ask a question or run something by us - and by us, I mean one of the doctors!  We also make sure patients can be seen when it is convenient for them and not 3 months from now.  ​

​Part of the way we ensure this high level of accessibility to our doctors is through the use of technology.  When patients spend minutes or even hours waiting on the phone or in the waiting room, that is time NOT well spent.  In our practice, your wait times will be minimal.

One of the best ways to save you time, is to schedule your own appointment rather than waiting on hold for a receptionist and then haggling back and forth to find a slot that works for both you and your doctor.  At Direct Doctors, you can schedule a visit online through our booking system (at www.patientfusion.com) as quickly as you can click your mouse!

​Once you’re a Direct Doctors’ patient, you will have more online tools at your disposal to simplify your contact with your doctor. 
 
You can log in to our online patient portal system to review your diagnoses.  You can even access the list to download and send to a specialist or keep on file for yourself.

​You will also have access to your medications.  This is where you could pull up your current list while you are at a specialist’s visit or the emergency room, right on your phone, so that you can share this with the doctor caring for you in real time.

​You will get reminders via email and/or text about upcoming visits at Direct Doctors and can log in to your patient portal to review the dates or request a change of time.

​There is even a secure messaging center where you can write notes back and forth to your doctor without worries about the riskiness of regular email for medical privacy.
