While we have many patients in Direct Primary Care Practices, like here at Direct Doctors, who do not have many or any chronic medical conditions, we also have a number who do. Patients dealing with chronic illnesses or unexplained symptoms often feel bounced around from specialist to specialist, test to test, either without answers or without organization. As an example, a patient of mine, who was newly joining the practice, brought her list of specialists. Suffering from atrial fibrillation, depression, and anemia, she had developed a laundry list of specialty doctors - nine in total. We worked together to get all of her records and review her issues and medications. We came up with a care plan for her that felt right to both of us - whittling that list down from nine to three! With specialists and primary care doctors in high demand, we try our best to keep patients out of the specialist office unless it’s truly necessary. Some examples of how we save patients from expensive specialty copays
Patients who are suffering from complex conditions that are poorly understood in Western medicine or have been bounced around without answers to their complex symptoms, will also find help here at Direct Doctors. Though we don’t pretend to be experts in complex or unexplained conditions, we do have more time during and after visits to help coordinate your care and testing. If you’re looking for a doctor who will quarterback your care, check us out or come in for a consultation to see if we’re the right fit for you at www.directdoctors.org! Comments are closed.
